Barnes wins medalist; Headland takes team competition

Ashford’s Logan Barnes shot a 69 to win a high school golf meet Thursday at the Headland Country Club that featured three teams and a couple of individuals.

Barnes, playing as an individual, finished seven strokes ahead of runner-up, Jacob Pruitt of Headland, who carded a 75.

Pruitt helped Headland win the team total with a 369. Rehobeth finished second with a 388 score. The Headland JV boys finished third with a 456.

Following Pruitt for Headland was Jackson Melancon with an 85. Jack Watson followed with an 86.

Leading the Rehobeth boys was Carter Breth with a 95 and Linkoln Robinson with a 96. Leading the Headland JV was Parker Money with a 110.

Dale County had two individuals competing. Landon Constable had a 90 and Zane Willis a 95.

Rehobeth wins girls part: Rebobeth beat Headland in girls golf action on Thursday at the Headland Country Club.

The Rebels had a 332 score to the Rams’ 358.

Rehobeth’s Kerrigan Freeman had a 105 to earn medalist honors. Dale County’s Olivia Rabon, competing as an individual, was three strokes behind at 108.

Leading the Headland girls was Lori Jane Woodham with a 112 total.
