Our good friend, golfing buddy and former HCC Pro Shop Manager Ken Bond has passed away. We will miss him.
Obituary
Kenneth Bond, a resident of Webb, died Sunday afternoon, February 12, 2017, in a Dothan hospital. He was 76.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Thursday, February 16, 2017, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Tim Plant and Reverend Don Clark officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the mortuary in Headland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Columbia, P.O. 267, Columbia, AL 36319 or to Road Trip 4 Paws, P.O. Box 3603, Coppell, Texas 75019.
Kenneth Bond was born and reared in Dothan, son of the late Wyatt Bond and Audrey Brackin Bond. He was a 1959 graduate of Rehobeth High School. Kenneth served his country eight years in the U. S. Air Force during the Vietnam War era. He was retired as an Air Traffic Controller for the Department of the Army. In later years, Kenneth served as the Manager of the Headland Country Club. He was an avid golfer and gardener and enjoyed nothing more than sharing the fruits of his garden with family, neighbors and friends. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Columbia and a former member of the Poplar Springs Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Jacqueline Mott and Sara Hulet.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Elaine Livingston Bond; a daughter Kelly Bond, Irving, TX; two sisters, Betty Davidson (Kenneth), Dothan; and Janice Lohman (Ray), Houston, TX; a brother, Jim Bond (Joy), Cowarts; several nieces and nephews.
Kenneth will be greatly missed by family, friends, golfing buddies and his canine friend “Bailey”.
