Headland finished in fourth place in the Class 4A-5A sectional golf tournament in Montgomery at Arrowhead Country Club on Tuesday and advanced to the sub-state next week in Jasper.

The Rams had a team score of 334. UMS-Wright finished first at 299, followed by Trinity (313) and St. James (332).

For Headland, Samuel Hammitte led the way with an 81, followed by Seth Cunningham and Trent Bridges at 83 and Kyle Jones at 87.

2014-american-legion-tournament-37The American Legion Post # 119 representing veterans from Henry County held it's annual 3-man scramble golf tournament at the Headland Country Club.  The team of Earl Ethridge, Kevin Ethridge and Todd Weeks won the tournament by regression with a score of 61 over the team of Charles Money, Mills Money and M Money who also shot 61.  Tim Grace, Greg Hutchenson and Jay Jarett capture 3rd place with a scroe of 62.

The 2014 Lions Club 3-Man Scramble Tournament was conducted on Friday, May 16th at the Headland Country Club.  Ten teams participated on a beautiful but windy day.


The team of K. V. Douglas - Luke Douglas - Ryan Parish and John Eiland - John Phipps - Jamie Correa tied for 1st place with an 11 under 61.  The team of Clay Grace - Tim Grace - Jay Jarett finished 3rd with a score of 63.
